We recommend following these steps after an auto accident to help with a smooth claim process:
Call the police
Write down the other vehicle driver(s) information:
Full NAME
Address & Phone #
License plate
Vehicle make/model/year
Insurance provider (and policy #)
VIN# (usually located on the bottom of the front windshield)
Take as many pictures as possible of all the vehicles involved in the accident
Do not talk about who was liable
Do not make an accident statement to anyone except the police officer
Write down the police officer’s name, department (sheriff or county), phone number, and badge number

Umbrella insurance is a type of personal liability insurance you can add to your policy for additional financial protection during a claim or lawsuit that EXCEEDS the coverage limits stated in your policy.
Umbrella Insurance is sold in increments of $1,000,000.
-
Umbrella Insurance is never required, but it is a smart addition to your standard policy if you have high-value assets, savings, or investments that exceed your standard coverage.
Additional reasons to consider Umbrella Insurance are having a high-risk occupation, a high-risk dog breed, a swimming pool, having children in college, or if you own rental properties, and are at risk for personal injury claims or lawsuits from tenants or home staff.
-
An Insurance Value is strictly the value of rebuilding your home—considering only the labor and materials at the time of your quote.
Real-estate appraisal takes into consideration comparables, schools, neighborhoods, and other factors outside of the physical structure of your home.
-
For the most part, your standard Homeowners policy does NOT cover personal items and articles like jewelry, furs, sports memorabilia, wine collections, fine art, antiques, and other items.
To protect your valuable assets inside your home, we can work with you to create a Schedule and specifically insure personal articles that may not be covered.
-
A Homeowners policy does NOT automatically cover additional homes, rental properties, etc. Please inform us about any additional houses and their locations. This will help us discuss the necessary additional insurance to protect your assets.
-
In Ohio, if you are a driver or passenger of a Transportation Network Company (TNC)—using your vehicle for business or charging a fee for transporting someone in your vehicle—your personal auto insurance will not cover you.
Contact us today to assess any gaps in your personal auto insurance and choose the right commercial auto insurance for your needs.
